How long would you wait for love?

With a strange title like "Love in the time of cholera", one probably wouldn't be expecting much from the movie but being the queen of coach-potato-ala-TV-addict as I am whose other favourite past time is channel surfing, I just had to watch it.

It is really about a love triangle between one beautiful woman (what else but only the usual cliche) and two men spanning 50 years. It is based on the novel of the same name by Gabriel García Márquez published in 1985 in spanish.

The usual ingredients are used in this romance - boy loves girl but girl rejects boy at first due to naviety and it doesn't help that opposing father of the girl keeps lovebirds apart. Girl grows up then marries another man who is endorsed by her father (as needless to say, is richer than our hero) which then prompted our spurred hero to seek 'solice' by bedding (and literally keeping tabs of) countless women which were as many as over 600, as the story goes. But all's well that ends well - our lovebirds are 'reunited' years later when husband dies.

As they say "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".

50 years, five decades, half a lifetime. C'est la vie.

What's Eating You Today?

This blog is a space for me to write about my hobbies. I'd like to share where I've been to, what good food I have tasted and things that I'm passionate about. Most importantly, it is about things that stir feelings of emotions. Enjoy.
