It's been a really long while since I've been so in love with a movie and I've got to say, I almost did not want to watch it. Perhaps I've got to thank KrisWorld for the not-too-exciting movie line-ups for a 17 hour or so flight and thus, I thought I'd give this one a shot. And boy, did I end up watching it not once but perhaps thrice or more.
Now I'm wondering if I should give "Dear John" a chance or should I just give it a miss. After all, it's about the same theme with the same lead actress, right?
Letters to Juliet is as cliche a love movie can be. The storyline is so predictable but yet, something so simple can be such a lovely fairytale for us grown-ups. I guess movies with happy endings can never go wrong. The princess, or in this case Juliet, will always have to be with her Romeo prince and true love will prevail.
I still get goose bumps watching the MV. Guess I'd always be a sucker for such love movies.

*Research on a topic and post my findings on my blog at least once a quarter
*Identify my personal values and develop a mission statement for life

I haven't quite figured out what my last two should be... but hopefully in the next month or so, I'd be greatly inspired by something or someone to pen down my big 5 for 2010.
Wish me luck!

Pu Tien, 我来咽!
We were going to watch "The Proposal" last night and as all foodies will do, they'd meet up first to fill their stomachs before the main agenda began.

We went to Pu Tien in Food Republic, Vivocity. The taste was good for most of them but we did order alot.
I liked the noodles and the fried brinjal best. The spinach and stewed tofu were good, but a bit disappointed with the tofu.
Somehow I think I tasted squid or something, which is a taste I don't quite fancy.
Once again, time always seem to fly by quickly. Whilst we were enjoying ourselves over dinner, we had to wrap up to collect our movie tickets. As for the review of the movie, it was quite alright. There were some really funny moments but the storyline a bit far out - to turn from hate to love in a short span of 3 days seems too much like fairytale. But nevertheless, since we are fans of Sandra Bullock, we did enjoy it overall.
Can't wait for next outing!:)

Where's this? 0701

OK, it is Friday night and the girls are out again. We were going to catch Harry Potter in Orchard and decided we cannot mistreat our stomach. So, we had a good dinner at this restaurant which had outlets in various places and Katong being its first outlet if I remember correctly. We ordered the fish and chicken which came with 2 sides of your choice. Service was unfortunately slower than expected although we got our seats pretty quickly as this outlet has been surprisingly quite packed every time I passed by; there'd be a snake long queue of young teens lining up for their table. We had to repeatedly ask if the chicken would be coming as we had a show to catch.
I remember the last time I ate at the Katong outlet, we had to queue darn long and waited even longer for the food. It was known for 'cheap and good' wagyu beef steak then, but quite disappointed when it came - guess you pay monkey price, you get monkey goods. But its other western selection was decent.
Nevertheless, when the food finally came, it was nice and up to our expectations. The portion were decent and our meal costs less than $18 with iced lemon tea included. Two thumbs up for the food but only one thumb for the service.
Guess the name of this restaurant and location.

the mussel guys restaurant

Yet another lovely, satisfying dinner with great company. Went to the mussel guys restaurant in vivocity as we wanted to catch Angels & Demons before it ends its final run in 2 days' time (ok, I finally went to watch it despite not having finished the book yet, but that's another blog for another day).
I think Jac wasn't that keen to eat here (she's allergic to seafood) but the choices we had weren't great as we decided to keep our selection on level 2 near where golden village cinema was as we are prone to rather long conversations and we do have a movie to catch and thus, a timeline to meet.
We ordered most of the stuff, except mussles, ironically enough, as mentioned earlier, Jac was allergic and I wasn't quite a mussel fan (cockles - yes; oysters definitely my newly acquired 'aphrodisac'). The menu was interesting - it had steak with foie gas. Wonder if they'd be any good.
We had cream of mushrooms, chicken wings and pasta. I had prawns aglio olio and Jac had wild mushroom pasta ala alfredo style. The prawn wasn't super fresh, but it wasn't stale bad. Just your fishy seafoody smell. Reminds me of this saying, "Keep 'em fresh and you keep 'em customers coming back."
Price was alright, as expected, not too overly pricey. Good place overall, and view is nice as it overlooks the habour... I wanted to give it 2 thumbs up but other reviews of the place was bad, so I'd give it 1.5 thumbs up. May return to try the foie gas though... .

Bride & Prejudice
Watching Bride & Prejudice. Love Jane Austen and love this "Indian-ised" version as well. Somehow, seem to relate better to this than the "ang-mo" version. Is it age, language (accent) or prejudice...? haha:)
